What do your Facebook status updates say about you - mine say I'm fat!
It has recently been brough to my attention that the majority (not all as certain people keep pointing out - bullies!) of my Facebook status updates are about eating and drinking. At first I decided I was being cyber bullied by my skinny friend and took great offence. When another 'friend' (I use the term losely after this incident) commented on the same thing I had to step back and take a good hard look at myself. I'd say 60% are linked to consumption of solids or liquids. Initially I thought 'shit, what a fatty loser, how embarassing to talk about food all the time!' however, on refelction I have come to two conclusions 1. Food is amazing, pretty damn interesting and definitely worth talking about 2. I'm not talking about eating it alone so everyone is just jealous of my socail life - ha! Actually I have a third one - 3. If I was paid a decent amount by my employer I would be writing about holidays instead but I don't, so deal with the food updates people. If you don't like it - defriend me!

Channelling cafe chic darling
I'm totally reliving the student diet days at the moment. This year I'm channelling the caf menu which includes gourmet broad beans drizzled in a rich orange jus on wholegrain rustic pain and fromage de cheddar on a bed of plum tomato tapenade on French campagne bread.
These dishes may be more familiar to you under the more popular names of beans on toast & cheese and ketchup on toast! Cheap, low in fat and calories and damn tasty, embrace cafe chic darlings, it's all the rage!

Mmmmm mmmm mmmm just found the most gorgeous pasta stand in Camden market (actually a bit before the lock - the one near H&M) the poor little man had no one waiting at his stand so I diverted from the Jacket potato boys over to said man. I'm very glad I did, he cooked the pasta freshly for me along with the sauce, jsut one portion for little old me, then I was treated to a mass of fluffily fresh parmesan, cruched chilli and black pepper. And all this for a mere £3.80, bargain I hear you cry! Yes, a bargain indeed. Unfortunately ones salary does not allow for delights such as these to be endured every day so it's back to the pitta bread and humus tomorrow, wah wah wah
